Panel 2: Decline
The second panel of the Fraser Valley Writers Festival started at 4:45PM on November 4th. It was held in B101 on the Abbotsford Campus. I still don't have much content about the actual topics being discussed (as I was running around doing other things for the festival, and we lost our footage), but I did manage to get a couple more pictures of the authors and a bit of the panel!
Panel 2: Decline, had Brandon Reid as our chair (who you saw in Panel 1), and our four panelists were:
-
andrea bennett, The Tyee senior editor, poet, and essayist (the berry takes the shape of the bloom)
-
Brandi Bird, debut Saulteaux, Cree, and Métis poet (The All + Flesh)
-
Tara Sidhoo Fraser, debut memoirist (When My Ghost Sings)
-
Frances Peck, 2023 Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer Prize finalist (Uncontrolled Flight)
Second Panel Discussion
Authors were asked to come up with a short original piece regarding the topic, 'Decline', in however they wanted to interpret the word. Whether that was being declined over and over again in the publication process, or declining to accept difficult realities in the world, and anything else relating to the word however they wanted to use it.
